Section 01

Getting Started

How do I get a quotation?
Upload your drawing (PDF, STEP, DWG, or DXF) through the Get a Fast Quote page with material, quantity, and required date. Our engineering team reviews it and you receive a detailed quotation within 24 business hours.
What file formats do you accept?
PDF for 2D drawings and STEP (.stp/.step) for 3D models are preferred. We also accept DWG, DXF, IGES, and native SolidWorks files. A 2D drawing with tolerances plus a 3D model gives the fastest, most accurate quote.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
There is no fixed MOQ. We quote everything from single prototypes to annual volumes above 100,000 pieces. Small quantities carry setup costs, and we will show you price breaks at higher quantities so you can decide.
Will you sign an NDA before I share drawings?
Yes. We routinely sign customer NDAs before any technical exchange, and drawings are shared with factories only under matching confidentiality agreements, with your end customer never disclosed.
Do you provide samples before production?
Yes. For new parts we recommend a sample or pilot lot with a full dimensional report (FAI) before releasing production quantities. Sample cost is typically credited against the production order.

Section 02

Company & Model

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
Neither in the traditional sense. We are a sourcing and supply chain partner: we do not own factories, but we also do not simply forward orders. Our engineers select the factory, our quality team inspects at the source, and we remain contractually responsible for quality and delivery.
Why work through you instead of going directly to an Indian factory?
Direct sourcing works well when you can audit factories, inspect in person, chase production daily, and manage export paperwork. Most buyers cannot do that from another continent. We provide that local presence, and because we place volume across the network, our pricing is usually comparable to or better than what a single factory would offer a new overseas customer.
Which company do I contract and pay?
You contract with HM Industries. You get one contract, one invoice, and one point of responsibility, regardless of how many factories produce your parts.
Why India?
India combines a deep base of precision manufacturers, engineering talent that works natively in English, competitive costs, and improving logistics. The challenge is that capability varies widely between factories, which is exactly the problem our audited network solves.
Do you have a presence outside India?
We are headquartered in India, where our engineering, quality and operations teams are based. We also run international business development and customer support covering Singapore and Southeast Asia, giving customers in the region a contact whose working day overlaps Asia Pacific, European mornings and US evenings.
Can you handle parts you have never made before?
Usually, yes. With more than 100 partners across more than 25 processes, most engineering components fall within the network's capability. If a part is genuinely outside it, we say so quickly rather than experiment at your expense.

Section 03

Quality

How do you control quality if you don't own the factory?
We work in three layers. Factories are audited before they enter the network, our own quality engineers inspect incoming material, work in progress, and final parts at the factory, and no lot ships without passing final inspection against your drawing. Responsibility for quality sits with us, not the factory.
What inspection documentation do you provide?
As standard, you receive a dimensional inspection report against a ballooned drawing, material test certificates, and photos of parts and packaging. On request, we can provide CMM reports, surface roughness and hardness results, FAI in AS9102 style formats, and full PPAP packages.
Can you provide material certificates?
Yes. EN 10204 3.1 certificates are standard for metallic parts, with heat number traceability from raw material to finished part. 3.2 certification with third party witnessing is available for critical applications.
What happens if parts arrive out of specification?
You raise a claim with photos and measurements, and we verify it against our inspection records, contain the issue, and resolve it by rework, replacement, or credit, at our cost if we are at fault. A corrective action report follows so the failure mode does not repeat.
Do you support PPAP and FAI for regulated industries?
Yes. We prepare PPAP submissions, typically Level 3, and First Article Inspection reports, including process flow, control plans, MSA, and capability studies, for automotive, medical, and other regulated customers.
Are your suppliers ISO certified?
Network factories hold ISO 9001 as a baseline, and many also hold IATF 16949, ISO 13485, or AS9100 depending on their sector. Certification is verified during our audit, but our own inspection layer applies regardless of the supplier's certificates.

Section 04

Pricing & Lead Time

How fast will I receive a quotation?
Within 24 business hours for most parts. Complex assemblies, castings that require new tooling, or large fabrications may take two to three days because we obtain firm pricing from multiple factories rather than estimating.
What are typical production lead times?
For machined parts, allow two to four weeks for samples and four to eight weeks for production. For castings and forgings that need new tooling, allow six to ten weeks for first articles. Repeat orders run faster. Every quotation states a committed lead time, and we report against it weekly.
How much can I realistically save by sourcing from India?
For machined, cast, forged, and fabricated components, landed cost savings of 25–45% versus Western Europe or North America are typical, after freight and duties. We quote landed cost to your door, so the comparison is honest.
What payment terms do you offer?
New customers typically start with an advance payment plus balance against shipping documents. Established customers move to open account terms, such as net 30 to 60 days, or a letter of credit, agreed case by case.
Who owns the tooling I pay for?
You do. Patterns, dies, molds, and fixtures paid for by the customer are documented in your name, marked accordingly at the factory, and can be transferred or returned on request.

Section 05

Logistics & Export

Which countries do you ship to?
We currently ship to customers across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. Export documentation is prepared to match the import requirements of your specific country.
Which Incoterms do you work with?
We work with EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP, and DDP. Most customers choose CIF or DAP so that we manage freight, and DDP is available in markets where we have customs clearance partners.
How are parts packed for export?
Packing is matched to the part and the mode of transport: VCI wrapping for corrosion protection, foam or cell interleaving for machined surfaces, and ISPM-15 fumigated wooden crates or pallets for sea freight. Packing photos are shared before every dispatch.
Can you consolidate parts from multiple suppliers into one shipment?
Yes, and this is one of the model's main advantages. Parts from several factories are inspected, consolidated at our facility, and shipped as a single consignment with one set of documents, cutting both freight cost and customs complexity.
